Generally speaking, a chronic illness is a disease or condition that is recurrent over varying amounts of time. Sometimes chronic illness persists and lasts for years, while other forms of chronic illness are intermittent and may be sporadic. Either way, chronic illness can be debilitating to a person’s physical, social, and psychological well-being.
Chronic illnesses are varied and may include conditions like diabetes, arthritis, depression, and cancer, among many others. In some cases, they represent the most common, costly, and preventable health problem. For example, did you know that in 2005 approximately 133 million people in the United States had a chronic illness?
Because chronic illnesses are so varied, their causes and symptoms can be very different. And so can the management of medications that have to be taken to control one or more of these conditions.
We are available to help you manage your chronic conditions and the medications that you need to thrive.

What is compounding?
Compounding is the preparation of a customized medication by a pharmacist to meet an individual patient’s needs. It combines the traditional role of a pharmacist and chemist with the latest medical knowledge and technology.
Benefits of Compounding
Changing the dosage form of your medication—If you cannot swallow a tablet or capsule, we can compound your medication into a liquid, rectal suppository, or transdermal gel to carry medicine through the skin.
Reducing side effects—Often times, applying a medication topically, significantly reduces side effects such as stomach upset/ulcers, drowsiness, nausea, etc..
Eliminating unwanted additives—If you cannot tolerate your medication due to dyes or fillers such as lactose, sugar or alcohol, we can eliminate these components.
Providing commercially unavailable, unformulated or discontinued medications.
Flavouring a medication in order to make it more palatable.
